Lockouts, lockouts and more lockouts...

First the NFL, now the NBA, yup, the NBA. The NBA announced this afternoon that it would lockout its players starting at midnight tonight. The last time an NBA season was shortened was for the 98-99 season. is this lockout going to be as big and bad as the 100 plus day NFL lockout? Obviously, no one can answer that yet but if these lockouts hold serve, one thing is for sure, NBA and NFL fans will need to find some new hobbies for fall and winter.

The Marlins win 2 in a row (finally!!)

The Marlins Win, The Marlins win!!! (Michael Kay voice). For the first time in a long time time, Marlins fans can rejoice, there team has one two in a row! The Fish pulled out a 5-4 win against The A's on Thursday. After 7 brilliant innings from Chris Volstad, the bullpen game Marlins fans something they've been used to in June: DRAMA. Edward Mujica Gave up a solo shot in the 8th and Leo Nunez gave up a two run shot in the bottom of the 9th to shrink the Marlins lead from a 5-1 advantage to 5-4. but ultimately Leo shut 'em down and the Marlins leave Oakland with a 2 straight wins and a series victory, something they haven't done since that infamous Buster Posey v. Scott Cousins series In San Francisco. Even with the two great wins to close out a dreadful June, Fish fans can rejoice, July starts tomorrow.

First post

Hi everyone,

I started this blog for one reason, I have a passion for sports but I cant play them. So I figured, heck if you can't play them ,write about them. I cant play them because i was born with a disability called Cerebral Palsy (CP) basically to sum it up is brain damage from being born two months early. for those of you that don't know I'm a max effort person, everything i do give 110% no matter what it is, schoolwork, working out or trying to reach a goal for myself etc. That's how I got to where I am today which you ll read below. When i was little i wanted to play sports just like any other 8 year old in my town, i couldn't play in a regular league obviously, so my parents singed me up for Parkland buddies soccer. All I can say is I flat out kicked ass! I would score legit 3 goals a game, no joke. i had these Landon Donovan type numbers because for the 15 marvelous years I've spent on this earth, after being to just about every hospital in from Miami to St. Louis, having surgeries , being in the NICU for 4 months and coming home on my parents anniversary, and being through 6 grueling years of physical therapy, I've never met anyone that has CP that is like me. To keep things short and sweet, I am affected only physically by this disability, I am 100% mentally totally fine and only use canes when I'm out and about because I have a little bit of trouble walking. I am an honor roll student at my local high school. OK back to 8 year soccer. Every time I would go to the park, sadly, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I would be the only one who would be mentally and physically strong enough to guide myself around the field without assistance and score into an open net. if you count up the numbers in your head you would know that our team won without a doubt, but at the end the refs would always say that the game ended in a "tie". I was so mad at the end of every game! and I experienced this same frustration for any other handicap sport I would play in. So I gave up on handicapped sports leagues about three years ago, and I noticed through school assignments that I had a real talent and passion for writing. So know at 15, and decided to take my other passion, sports, and create this blog. I love Nascar, baseball, football, and basketball. My favorite teams/ athletes are the Jeff Gordon (Nascar driver), The Florida Marlins, Josh Johnson (Marlins Pitcher), The New England Patriots, Tom Brady (Patriots Quarterback), Miami Heat, The big three of the Heat (Wade, Lebron, and Bosh.). through the growth of this blog I will talk about these teams/ players and all the other pressing sports issues out there. Hope you guys enjoy!:)
