Lockouts, lockouts and more lockouts...
First the NFL, now the NBA, yup, the NBA. The NBA announced this afternoon that it would lockout its players starting at midnight tonight. The last time an NBA season was shortened was for the 98-99 season. is this lockout going to be as big and bad as the 100 plus day NFL lockout? Obviously, no one can answer that yet but if these lockouts hold serve, one thing is for sure, NBA and NFL fans will need to find some new hobbies for fall and winter.
The Marlins win 2 in a row (finally!!)
The Marlins Win, The Marlins win!!! (Michael Kay voice). For the first time in a long time time, Marlins fans can rejoice, there team has one two in a row! The Fish pulled out a 5-4 win against The A's on Thursday. After 7 brilliant innings from Chris Volstad, the bullpen game Marlins fans something they've been used to in June: DRAMA. Edward Mujica Gave up a solo shot in the 8th and Leo Nunez gave up a two run shot in the bottom of the 9th to shrink the Marlins lead from a 5-1 advantage to 5-4. but ultimately Leo shut 'em down and the Marlins leave Oakland with a 2 straight wins and a series victory, something they haven't done since that infamous Buster Posey v. Scott Cousins series In San Francisco. Even with the two great wins to close out a dreadful June, Fish fans can rejoice, July starts tomorrow.
